Hi Fred,

Prior to 2018, entertainment for business owners was a deductible business expense.  The passage of the Job Cuts and Tax Act, which started in 2018, disallowed the deductibility of entertainment.  You can still deduct meal expense at an event, if the meals are paid for separately, and you meet the qualifications for deducting business meals.
